Our first experience living in a 'Van'
Our first experience living in a 'van': an unforgettable trip to Mexico
Valérie and I have explored the roads of North America aboard various recreational Vehicles. From camping in a travel trailer to trips in a truck camper, we've tried almost everything... except the vanlife.
Despite our curiosity for this lifestyle, we always had reservations: Motorhomes seemed too small, too narrow, and not well-suited for our daily lives as nomadic workers. But this year, we decided to take the plunge, and we haven't regretted it for a second.

The adventure begins
Our adventure began in 2023 with a SafariCondo XL Plus, a Vehicle designed by a Quebec Company with over 25 years of experience in RV manufacturing. As soon as we hit the road, we were impressed by the quality of the design and the comfort of this Vehicle.
After spending the last few years working on the design of our latest camper, we quickly noticed the manufacturer's years of experience in every small detail of our new Vehicle. The lightweight cabinets, simple and efficient operations, and well-thought-out storage space—nothing was left to chance.
With its generous fenestration, we were able to admire the breathtaking landscapes of Mexico, while enjoying a surprisingly spacious living area, considering the size of the Vehicle.

Comfort and pleasant driving
The real test came when we started driving the winding roads of Mexico. The impressive turning radius allowed us to easily navigate the narrow roads of small villages. With the high fuel prices in Mexico, we were very happy to have a Vehicle that consumed almost half the fuel of our old Vehicles.
The transition between the bench seat and the bed is quickly done by pressing a button, and after closing the blinds, we quickly feel at home! We really liked the modular aspect of the layout. It allowed us to enjoy a larger living space and ample counter space for cooking, while still having access to a toilet and shower on the road.
Daily life in a Motorhome requires some adaptation, but we quickly found our rhythm. In the morning, we loved opening all the windows to let in the fresh breeze and enjoy the sunrise over the Mexican landscapes.

Memorable moments
One of the most memorable moments of our trip was our stay in Tamasopo. We parked our Motorhome by the river, and every morning, I could jump into the water for a swim in a dreamy turquoise river. Our camping spot was sublime, and we never would have been able to reach it with our old Vehicles, which were much too large.

Conclusion
This first experience living in a Safari Condo Motorhome was a revelation for us. It is by far the easiest RV to maneuver that we have had the opportunity to test. Even though it has all the amenities of a large RV, you can drive it like a small car. It parks anywhere, and as soon as the Vehicle stops, we are already ready to enjoy the location! No complex installation or wasted time. The next day, we get back behind the wheel and we're off!
For us, this trip to Mexico is just the beginning of a new adventure. We are eager to discover where the road will take us next, and we hope you will join us on this journey through our videos and articles.
See you on the road!
Alex and Valérie
